This subsidy offers up to $2,000 to eligible Queensland tourism and event businesses to support targeted training or accreditation that builds skills, confidence and capability. Whether you’re a sole trader or a small to medium-sized business, it’s designed to help you strengthen your business and enhance the experiences you deliver to visitors.

Frequently Asked Questions

A Queensland Government–funded program delivered by QTIC to help tourism and events businesses strengthen their capabilities through approved training and accreditation aligned with Destination 2045.

Queensland-based tourism and events businesses, including sole traders, small to medium businesses (fewer than 200 FTE employees), eligible non-profits and LGAs, that primarily operate in the tourism market and meet all eligibility requirements.

Up to $2,000 (GST exclusive), per funding round.

No. Accreditation renewals are not eligible. This program is designed to support new accreditations, not to subsidise existing or renewal accreditations.

Training: Employees must not have completed the same course in the past two years.

Accreditation: The business must not currently hold the accreditation, or it must have expired at least two years ago.

No co-contribution is required. Any costs above the $2,000 excluding GST subsidy cap must be paid by the business.

Only the approved training and accreditation programs listed in Table 1 of the guidelines. Activities not listed are not eligible.

Yes. Multiple approved training and/or accreditation activities can be included in one application. Any fees over $2000 excluding GST must be paid by the business.

Activities must not start before approval. Once approved, businesses must be registered to start within 30 days.

Most activities must be completed within 6 months of approval, with limited exceptions for longer accreditation programs.

The subsidy is paid by reimbursement. Businesses pay the provider directly, then submit evidence of completion (e.g. certificate), an invoice to QTIC, proof of payment (bank or credit card statement) via the Grant Toolbox and must be completed within 30 days of accreditation/training completion.

If registration does not occur within 30 days, the funding offer will lapse.
If activities are not completed within the required timeframe (and no extension is approved), or the claim is not made, the subsidy will not be paid.

Any variations must be approved in writing by QTIC before proceeding.

Only one approved application per ABN per funding round.

Yes. Completion of the post-program survey is a condition of receiving the subsidy.
